Middle childhood (5-14 years of age), is a very critical time in the life of a child. During this time they are their healthiest and their brain's show more patterns of enhanced cognitive performance (as cited in Vander Zanden, Crandell, & Crandell).
At OLA, it is our goal to foster a quality arts environment that produces positive results. We firmly believe in edutainment, a blend of both entertainment and education. We recognize that both nature and nurture strongly impact the character and moral development of an individual. Therefore, it is our goal to train up leaders in the world of entertainment as well as in life! It is our hope that OLA students are not only great talents, but community leaders exemplifying our core values.
CAYERIO pronounced KAY-RE-O!!!
Cayerio never fails to get to the audience on their feet with their hard hitting blend of hip-hop and rock.. Solid musicianship, insuppressible energy,
and a strong commitment to entertaining and educating has put this
band on the map. Cayerio has toured with indie rock and pop-punk bands, but it's hard to place this
indie hip-hop band into any one genre. Their sound is rooted in the traditions of hip-hop, but feature live
instruments and musicians instead of tracks and basic drum beats. With
the blended elements of pop, hip-hop, and rock the band's fan base
transcends age, race, and gender. Cayerio delivers a combination of
radio hits and impressive originals in a live performance that will

HYBRID PERFORMANCE GROUP
From Hip Hop to African to Krumpin to drama to spoken word and even song, Hybrid Performance Group (HPG) provides a creative outlet for the artist. HPG's mission in it's duality, is to provide audiences with positive and purposeful entertainment. In addition, HPG seeks to offer quality performance and leadership training for artist of all backgrounds. HPG participants are aged 16 & up with a passion to grow as a performer and leader. HPG and its members are available for live dance and drama performances, workshops, seminars and residencies, instruction and choreography.

OLAYouth (OLAY)
Much like Hybrid, OLAYouth is a triple threat program where students ages 7-16 train in dance, drama, and voice while actively performing. Participants of OLAY must :
-Maintain a GPA of 3.0 and exemplify exemplary academic achievements and markings
-4 Hours of community service and volunteer work a month
-No more than 3 late arrivals to rehearsal a month
-No more than 2 missed rehearsals and 2 early departures a month
-Professional appearance in rehearsals and before, during, and after performances
-Adhere to the OLA Creed
